A freshly cut slab of petrified wood is impressive, but it is dull, opaque, and hides its true beauty. Transforming this raw stone into a stunning, high-gloss luxury centerpiece requires weeks of meticulous manual labor.

We do not use synthetic glossy varnishes to cheat the finish. The shine on our petrified wood is achieved purely through mechanical friction, revealing the natural quartz crystals embedded within the wood grain.

The 5-Step Finishing Pipeline

Our approach to finishing is comprehensive and uncompromised. Every piece must pass through this rigorous five-stage system before it is approved for export.

1. Precision Measurement & Leveling

Before any polishing begins, the piece is meticulously measured and leveled. A dining table must have a perfectly flat topographical surface. We grind away microscopic high points to ensure structural stability and a flawless horizontal plane.

2. Multi-Stage Mechanical Polishing

This is the heart of the transformation. Our artisans use heavy rotary polishers, starting with coarse diamond grit pads to grind away saw marks. They progressively move through finer and finer grits—often up to 3000-grit—until the rough stone transforms into a smooth, lustrous, glass-like surface.

3. Natural Resin Application (Patching)

Fossilized wood naturally contains ancient fracture lines and deep mineral pockets. To ensure a completely smooth, sanitary surface for functional use (like dining tables or sinks), we carefully inject high-grade clear resin into these natural voids. This preserves the organic aesthetic while vastly improving durability.

4. High-Pressure Washing

Once polishing and patching are complete, the piece undergoes a thorough high-pressure washing cycle to remove all silica dust and polishing compounds. This final cleanse allows the true, vibrant colors of the fossil to emerge.

5. Final Quality Control (QC)

Our senior QC staff inspects every inch of the finished piece under harsh lighting. They run their hands across the surface to detect microscopic imperfections. Only pieces that achieve a perfect, unbroken reflection are approved for international shipping.
